In today's fiercely competitive job market, a good portfolio is a way of setting oneself apart. My portfolio not only documents my professional experiences as well as the academic milestones which I’ve been able to accomplish successfully during my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from American Public University System (APUS). I structured my portfolio so that it is easy to read across; my portfolio stands in separate portions:
- Introduction and Educational Background: My motivation for deciding to study Business Administration is explained in this section.
- Course Overviews: A brief review of classes I completed with big topics and what skills I learned.
- Program Objectives: This subsection provides a review of the program objectives I worked within which I achieved during my studies.
- Skills and Concepts Acquired: Summary of the key concepts and processes I learned that are relevant to my career objectives.
- Conclusion and Future Goals: A key reflection on how the program matches my future aspirations and how my degree will augment me career-wise.
Why am I studying Business Administration? I decided to study Business Administration at APUS because I have developed a special interest in operations and processes for successful organizations. To develop my business skills further, I felt the flexibility of an online course that helped me combine my studies with my work responsibilities.
This program provides students with strategic management, marketing, financial accounting, data-driven marketing, data-driven decision making, and business education. I was able to pick these and to choose strategically so as to have a comprehensive perspective of how the business works. During the program I received goals, some of which have been identified; analytical thinking and strategic reasoning, deeper marketing/finance knowledge and knowledge application.
Key point that I learnt Key point I learnt, the class has taught me a lot about leadership, ethical management and performance evaluation. I gained an in-depth knowledge of what matters most for team dynamics and great communication skills essential to business success with case studies and group projects.
Conclusion The Business Administration degree from APUS has definitely improved my goals both professionally & personally. And the knowledge and my extensive knowledge and skill set built through this program is, for me to succeed in my career development and future opportunities, is so vital. I also demonstrate my dedication to improvement and this portfolio proves that I have been able to use the knowledge from the program to fulfill my career goals.
